Birthing My Drum

Last weekend, I stepped out of my comfort zone and birthed my own drum.

We were told that the process could be challenging — and it was.

It began with lighthearted giggles and excitement, but then something shifted.

My mind went quiet. My focus slipped away. Frustration bubbled up until I knew — I needed to step back. The space we were in deserved calm, not the storm I was carrying.

So I listened to what was needed. I left, and accepted the invitation to return the next morning.

When I did, everything felt different. The energy softened. Beautiful, soulful conversations unfolded, laughter filled the air again, and in that gentler space, she was finally birthed — my drum.

She carries not just rhythm, but the reminder that creation asks for patience, surrender, and the courage to pause when the heart says not yet.
